DUDE!!!

Great news that you'll be in the Tour. Maybe Schleck can ride support for you, if he's up to it.

Congrats on your double selection. Olympics and TdF.. Well deserved and a reason to watch the events!!

I just saw on Cycling News that you are going to France! My TV viewing for the month of July just got much better. Kick butt Chris.

Congratulations on the Olympic selection!!! Well deserved and about time!
Hope to see you at the Tour also!
I've been a fan and you've been an inspiration for a long time! Always admired your honesty and integrity. Continued good luck!

Way to go! In my mind you not only deserved this, you earned it! I like the quote, " if you don't want to know what is really going on, Don't ask Chris". All aside my wife and I have been fans for ever! Go Bend!

On selection to Olympic team; awesome. I'm sure it is a huge honor, and you absolutely deserve it. I'm sure we will also see you at the TdF. Oh yea, and that attack during ToC made for one of the most exciting bike races of the year. The only guy I've met that you might know is Tommy Danielson, so hopefully both of you get in a break together during the TdF.

Might be a good idea to be mute on the Armstrong situation. The cycling fraternity has finally had to speak out under oath on the lies that Lances ego has wanted us to believe. His money has kept the lies at bay up until now. Defending Lance now only makes you look naive. Note, there has been little defense of Lance this time around after this broke. Lance's ego alone has dragged this topic on for too long, he only has himself to blame. In addition the peloton needs to do a better job to call out the cheats and police themselves than they have in the past. We shouldn't have to wait this long for the truth to come out after riders testimony under oath and the threat of perjury. The sport depends on it.

Chris, a huge fan of yours and dissapointed you were left off the tour squad. Understand your relationship with Lance, but aligining yourself with his fantasy of non-guilt is not smart. Those of us who have been riding/racing as long as you know better. Don't sign up to Lance nation, they are about to get an education on their idle.

Chris,

No offense to Frank...but hoping he blows his time trial tomorrow and maybe they give you another shot!

Chris,

Can't believe you were left off the team for the TdF. Can't imagine what they were thinking. RadioShack has certainly lost my support along with many, many other Americans with this decision. Hopefully they will reconsider and this terrible mistake will be rectified.

Good luck and all the best to you.

Bruyneel was already one of my least favorite d-bags in cycling and now he's moved into the #1 spot. Didn't think or care that much about him when he was an active racer then got pretty ga ga for him and Lance back in the 7 wins days (not anymore!), but watching his behavior since then it is clear that the dude is the ultimate snake who looks out for #1 and that is it. He's got about as much tact as a fart at a funeral and has people skills and methods to match. Chris you are a stud and no matter what happens, you can feel good knowing that you are head and shoulders above Bruyneel and the rest of his category of turds. You've got scads of fans who appreciate your outlook, how you conduct yourself, and how much ass you kick on the bike. Good luck in whatever happens. Maybe now that Andy is out they'll ask you to ride the Tour, hats in hand. They certainly aren't serious about Frank for GC. That pencil neck has the mental and physical toughness of a jellyfish. His even bigger pencil neck of a brother does, too.

Chris, I sent Trek an e-mail yesterday: "You really need to throw your weight around with team management and get Horner into the TDF. He's the best interview in the peloton and your best chance to look good on TV for the whole month of July. THIS IS A BIG DEAL."

They replied: "Thanks for your support of Chris. We're also disappointed that he was left off of the list, and we'll share your message with the team management."

Will they listen?

Chris, seriously disappointed to hear about RSNT's decision on the TdF. You are a great talent, class act, and one of the best writers in the peloton. I will miss your stage recaps if you're not there. I've written my e-mails to team, sponsors, etc. and hopefully the roar from everyone will make them reconsider. Best to you and we'll keep our fingers crossed!

Aschlecks unfortunate injury allows this silly mistake to be easily forgotten and more importantly fixed. Chris Horner for nissantrek GC! Now Chris can go for it all in France and Andy can battle Alberto in Spain.

June 13, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterRon

Now that Andy is Out R U In? make them stroke you a big check!

Dear Chris, I hope the TdF snub turns out to be a blessing in disguise. Go win Tour of Austria and Tour of Poland!

June 13, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterMarten

There are a lot of people frustrated about this Chris. I've been jumping from forum to forum and 98% of the posts express dismay and a hint of betrayal. If it's any consolation, I think your fan base just got much bigger!

To follow up on my twitter post, I am kind of disgusted at the way this was explained in Velo News by Johan. To me he found an opportunity to cut you out of TDF, that in his mind was plausible. By use of proxy communications it allowed him to claim he was clear to you on the ramifications of not participating in the Dauphine or Tour De Suisse. I don't want to stir up any trouble but as a leader Johan failed in his duty to you and the team. I could continue going into different tangents, but its not of any value to do so.
The one thing that cannot be denied is your warrior heart and the inspiration you give to riders of all ages, especially us that are approaching senility, lol.
God speed and I look forward to seeing you race in the future, and I hope to see you get interviewed by Bobke again, always fun to watch.
Thanks for all the great moments you have given us on the road!

Chris - As a huge fan of yours.......my sense is that being left of the TDF team this year is really a blessing in disguise. I don't know why but that's all I kept feeling when I heard the news. I was disappointed but it WILL work out for the best! I'm praying you are selected for the Olympic team and then of course.....protected team leader at Utah and Colorado.

June 12, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterKitty

So sad to hear. Chris you are an inspiration for all American cyclists (especially the not so young ones). I hope RSNT hear all the feedback and change their mind. You deserve to be there more than 3/4 of their preliminary list for the tour. It will be such a shame if you are not there. I do hope you come to Colorado this year, with or without this team, and I can't wait to see you finish in my backyard of Beaver Creek. Stay strong, keep working hard. Prove them all wrong!

June 12, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterBen McNair

Really bad decision on the part of RSNT! Perhaps after Andy Schleck's miserable performance in the Dophine they will realize it and reconsider??

June 12, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterLin Varnum

RSNT DS and leadership made a terrible economic decision not naming you Chris. Really? Really dumb...Thoroughly disappointed. This is a business, right? That's what some are saying for why he was left off.. well, ok..So yes, Flavio Becca owns the team and Bruyneel is DS, they do make the decisions. However, RadioShack has spent millions to sponsor RSNT. Radioshack is probably hoping people go to their stores because of this sponsorship, right? How many Radioshack locations in the US? 4,486. How many Radioshack locations in Luxembourg? 0. Hmm.... seems pissing off US fans (who happen to really like you) is probably not the best business decision, huh? Julian Day and James Gooch, you reading this? Chris, just be your classy self and get with a team who would at least have the common decency to call you first. Protesting RSNT now. Good luck with whatever happens,

June 12, 2012 | Unregistered CommenterPoseidon Sea

Hey dude that's what you get for riding for a foreign team. Postal, Discovery and Radio Shack is just a American team in name. They have no interest in promoting American cycling or cyclist. Brueniel is Belgian and it's a Belgian team. It was obvious when Leif Hoste screwed Hincapie at Flanders. If you want to support a American team support Garmin or BMC. Or at least a Belgian team that admits it's Belgian Quick Step.
Johan the worst off luck in the future.

Wow! shock, disbelief, I'm not all that smart but do pay attention to all that goes on and I'm just trying to figure this TDF thing out? Hope you're well physically. Sure gonna miss ya at the Tour... #crazy!
