Chris,
You have been my favorite rider for years because of your incredible ATTITUDE and how you go about racing your bike and how you deal with the adversity. You are a 'man amongst men' in my book. Thanks so much for being such an incredible influence on racers coming up through the ranks. Thank you for your transparency in a sport that really needs it right now. I have been retired from racing now for four years and was a 15 year cat 2. I have people ALL THE TIME ask me about racing and 'who do I like/root for' - I always point them in your direction and say watch that man right there both on and off the bike. Thanks Chris!

Chris,
Thanks so much for being such a positive influence on cyclists everywhere. We remember the time when you were just a pup and it has been great to follow your progress over the years. Derek speaks very highly of you and your friendship. Keep up the good work and best of luck in the coming year.

Hello Chris,
I saw some of the pictures from the team presentation and threshold training and I was really psyched to see you on stage with the strongest riders in cycling. Considering your association with Lance and other great riders, it makes quite a statement about your career as a whole and your status in cycling today. It must be a source of pride for you. I was rooting for you last season and saw some of your interviews and then your stellar performances in the Volta a Catalunya, Pais Vasco and then in California. You were looking hungry and if things had gone more your way in the Tour, you would have definitely improved on your placing from last year. I'm rooting for you again this year and look forward to both your team and individual results. And like last year in California, I'm lookin' foward to you setting such a pace that you simply ride away from the "leaders".
Best,
Michael

Hello,
I have followed your career for ever. Even thou you cleaned up in US racing. I'm much more proud of your recnt racing in Europe.
You have proved what I thought. You would run with the big dogs if you got the chance. Great career , I do like your take on how races play out. PS: Stop riding and shooting the gutter it only hurts. Good luck Rob

Hey Chris,
I just read the article in Velo about you, very inspiring! It would make my tour in SD worth it to be able to meet you for coffee one day before you leave SD... I actually work p/t at the shop you used to work at on Ronson Rd with Peter K...

Keep up the hard work buddy!

Hi Chris,

just to wish you god luck for 2012 and say we appreciate your drive and will to race. There are some years I talk to my buddies that you are one of the smartest racers in the Euro pelot, and many people agree now.
Smart racing, tactics and above of all you like to race and that is what we like to see. someone that likes to race and evnetually races very well.
I will follow you from Brasil.Got a nive picture from you at ToC 2008 pulling the guys up the Howie Mtn (think is this way) stage 1, just after finished the climb myself on that rainy stage.

abraço e boa sorte

Chris,

I just read the article on Velonews regarding your future in racing. It's awesome that you are fired-up and still super excited to be racing. I eagerly anticipate the start of the season. Honestly speaking, though I do enjoy Cadel, I will most likely only watch the Tour because of you. It's gonna be a great season! Good luck, Chris, and be safe, healthy, and fit!

Hi, Chris!
Been following your career for years. How can I not love a guy who can win big races, loves what he does, and who gives young riders a lift on the back of his bike when they crash? When people ask me which big-name rider I'd like to ride with, I always show them the picture of you giving that kid a lift on your bike. I want to ride with "that guy!" Speaking of pictures, I just left this note to say we need AT LEAST one picture of "that guy" (circa 2002?) with the rangy blonde goatee in your gallery!! My wife thought he was "so cute!"

Hi Chris,
I am an avid cyclist , and am looking for any words of advice or encouragement! I broke my right arm, dislocated elbow and broke Pelvis in 3 places on a bike tour and crashed coming down the Col' D' angnello. II happened on 9/6 had 2 surgeries, all went well, recovering right now and they say my progress is excellent. I am 50, but was in great shape, so they say it will be a while till I get back on the bike. My husband and I also ride in lots of charity rides our biggest the Livestrong Challenge! I am worried I won't ride the same or soon enough to prepare for next season.

Thank you
Dee

Hey Chris

Hope life is treating you well - we are following you from Denmark :-) Just wondering if you still uses Enduro Bearings at your bikes? Me and my buddy from Denmark is trying to distribute Enduro Bearings in Denmark, and maybe you can elaborate a bit on your experiences with Enduro Bearings. We are so excited about the american product and hopefully we can let the scandinavian riders/companies know that Enduro Bearings is the way to go :-)

Good luck on the road :-) - hope to hear from you

Sincerely

Jakob, Denmark.

Hey Chris- This is a training question from a big fan. I'm really curious about how you were able to lose so much weight before ToC without it affecting on your power. Whenever I try to lose even just a few pounds I find training gets really hard all of a sudden because I haven't eaten enough. Does that happen to you as well? Do you just work through it and then does the power come back once you're done dieting? Or did that not happen at all for you? Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Hope you heal up soon!

Chris,
I have to ask is there a Big Red S on your chest? If Dave Zabriski is Captain America then you must be Superman.
My 6 foot 8 inch tall son and I met you at the Cyclery USA meet and greet. you are such a great person giving your time making everyone got a photo with you.. My son says that the picture of the two of you is his favorite picture of all time. May your recovery be swift. the cycling world needs it's Superman back.

I hope to see you on top of the podium in the 2012 Tour De Fance.

Best wishes Patrick

Chris,

I would like to see a new regulation within the governing body UCI . This new regulation should be titled "Horner's Law" stating any cyclist who loses consciousness while in the act of a pro cycling competition or event shall not be allowed to resume competing in that event race. I want you to know this unfortunate accident you had could equate to a fortunate future by saving the life of a fellow competitor. The close of your season should not be a disappointment in regard of "Horner's Law" but should be put into a positive and productive perspective that you were a messenger for the UCI to save lives with common sense.

I'm thankful for the series of miracles that you are still with us Chris.
I'm your greatest fan and your loss in France and Colorado deflated the greatest freakin American fight you were prepared to podium with.
I believe in you and want you to drive on with your gifted focus for your renewed contract and future Grand Prix Tour victories.
You have the ultimate mindset and discipline to do more great damage in the field of competition

The Raging Ram was ticketed for the US Pro Challenge with intent to support your rock -n - smiling rage.
My motivation to make this journey is half assed deflated now but I will step up to support Levi and TD.
I apologize for loaning the Ram out to TD and the Colorado Stae Rams. The dedicated Oregon Ram awaits your return next season.
America and l love you Chris. We are incredibly looking forward to see your top gun potential!
Grow your afterburner ascent!!!
You are a winner!

Best of luck Chris - love watching you race. Tough competitor.
Remember this during your time off the bike:

It's easy to grin when your ship comes in and you've got the stock market beat.
But the man worthwhile, is the man who can smile, when his shorts are too tight in the seat.
